How it's calculated
Cost per meeting
People × hourly cost × length in hours. A one-hour meeting with six people at $60 an hour costs $360.
Hourly cost
Use salary plus benefits and overheads, divided by working hours. If you don't know, 1.3× salary ÷ 2,000 hours is a common rough estimate.
Per year
We assume 48 working weeks to allow for holidays.
Questions
How do I cut meeting costs?
Invite fewer people, shorten the default length from 60 to 25 or 45 minutes, and replace status meetings with written updates.
Does it count preparation time?
No. It counts time in the meeting only, so the real cost is usually higher.
Can I use another currency?
Yes. Enter costs in your currency; the maths is the same.
